Dutchman Pieter Bij De Lije spent more than fifteen years patiently creating over 300 miniature reproductions of buildings, temples, ships and churches inside bottles for display in this unique museum. The secret is to build the models first, cut them apart and reassemble them inside the bottles using long pincers and glue. It's not easy to do and visitors can take up the pincers to try themselves at one of the museum's work benches. Not content with his bottles, the craftsman also built numerous model ships and Thai villages before retiring. Today Prapaisri Thaipanich continues the bottle art, also creating elaborate flowers in glass for sale and running a training centre for people to learn her techniques. Open: 9.30 am - 7.00 pm daily Tickets: 100 baht (adults), 50 baht (kids) Tel: 66(0)3842 2957 |
